Grupa Kęty S.A. confirmed the validity of the certificate of compliance with the sustainable development standard for the aluminium segment introduced by the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI).
The Performance Standard audit carried out confirmed fulfilment of 59 criteria covering responsible production and processing of aluminium in compliance with the environmental, social and ethical requirements.
ESG issues have long been setting the direction of the sector development – it is not a trend but a binding practice, which has been consequently performed in the operations of Grupa Kęty.
Our Group is one of the first companies in Poland which already in 2023 obtained the ASI certificate.
The results of this year’s verification confirmed, among other things:
– reduction in energy consumption in the process of aluminium remelting;
– increased share of scrap in profiles extruded from in-house aluminium billets;
– reduction of carbon footprint for the manufactured products confirmed with an environmental declaration having the status of a European ‘ECO-EPD verified’ declaration.
Maintenance of high standards at each stage of the value chain, starting from working conditions and relationships with stakeholders or local communities, and ending with responsible sourcing of materials and recycling – this is a strategic challenge with which we cope every day.
