The final of the ‘Let’s Clean the Beskids with the Polish Tatra Society’ project was held on 14 June at Magurka Wilkowicka, and was attended by the project participants and the children under the care of the ‘Grupa Kęty for the Children of the Podbeskidzie Region’ Foundation.
In this year’s activities lasting from April to June as many as 807 people participated, of which over 630 children and youths. We have collected nearly 2,300 litres of waste – less than in the preceding, record low year, which shows that our joint efforts bring effects! As the organisers remind, not only figures are important – it is education and environmental awareness that are of highest merit. Although cleaning is essential, the most important thing is not to leave any litter behind.
Let us take our litter home, do not leave them in the mountains, so that we may find them again clean, beautiful and people friendly!
