On 9-11 January 2024 another, 18th edition of the International Winter Championship in Emergency Medical Services will be held in Szczyrk.
This time it will be attended by 35 teams. The organisers prepared nine tasks in order to check the correct provision of emergency medical services in difficult winter conditions, in coordination of other emergency services. On 9 January 2024, at 8 p.m. two of the tasks will be held in Bielsko-Biała. The largest of them at Plac Ratuszowy and Plac Wojska Polskiego squares. Then in the centre of Szczyrk the teams will participate in the next two tasks. On 10 January 2024, the rivalry will move to Żywiec, and to a mountain shelter at Skrzyczne. The last task will wait for the participants at their route back to Hotel Klimczok in Szczyrk. In all the tasks, which simulate the possible rescue activities, the Police, Fire Brigade and Mountain Rescue Organisation will be engaged.
Cooperation of services during training sessions contributes to our improved safety in every place in case a real emergency occurs. The participating teams will perform tasks in compliance with the binding procedures, and the activities will be assessed by judges in order to arrive at the final scores.
