On Wednesday afternoon, 14 April, at the regional library of ‘Książnica Beskidzka’ in Bielsko-Biała two projects in which Grupa Kęty and the ‘Grupa Kęty for the Children of the Podbeskidzie Region’ Foundation are strongly engaged were combined.
Within the 4th edition of the TooWhat ‘Let’s Meet OFFLINE’ project there was held a special ‘ACTION – RELATION’ lecture by Dagmara Ewertowska, M.A., psychologist, special needs teacher, member of the Polish Psychological Association, teacher, social educator, social skills training (SST) therapist, and school volunteering coordinator.
During the talk, parents and carers learnt about effective communication methods that really work – even in the moments of intense emotion and teenage ‘storms’. They also learnt how to build a relationship with their child based on trust, step by step, and how to strengthen that relationship in everyday life.
The entry was free – it was financed within the 4th edition of the TooWhat project under the motto of ‘Let’s Meet Offline’, devoted to digital hygiene and strengthening relationships outside of the virtual world. The project has been carried out by Grupa Kęty in cooperation with the City of Bielsko-Biała and the ‘Biegniemy z Mają’ [Run With Maja] Foundation.
The event also covered the Share Your Home programme carried out by the ‘Grupa Kęty for the Children of the Podbeskidzie Region’ Foundation in liaison with the Bielsko-Biała Welfare Centre. Such events are a good occasion for promoting the idea of foster care – all participants received special information materials and delicious ‘Sharing Buns’ from the ‘Klimczokówka’ café.
