‘Share Your Home’ is a social campaign to support and develop foster care, carried out by the ‘Grupa Kęty for the Children of the Podbeskidzie Region’ Foundation in liaison with the Bielsko-Biała Welfare Centre and the City of Bielsko-Biała.
Cooperating for nearly 15 years with children’s homes we see an urgent need to develop and support foster parenting. In 2021 we signed a letter of intent in that matter and since that time we have been focusing on specific support to foster families in Bielsko-Biała. We have already allocated over half a million zlotys to the campaign.
We take advantage of opportunities to talk about foster care in the wider public sphere. This was the case during a December weekend, when we actively represented the project at two local events. We were invited by Mayor Jarosław Klimaszewski to the ceremonial lighting of the city Christmas tree in Bielsko-Biała. A special bauble with the project logo was also hung on the tree. There was time to talk to the families and meet over hot chocolate…
And on Sunday we joined forces with the Bielsko-Biała Welfare Centre, the Foundation and the foster
families to participate in the 10th Santa Run as the ‘Share Your Home’ team. We won in the category of the ‘Largest Group’. This is great! And even better is the fact that we already have synergy in mind with the ‘Hope’ Foundation who organised the run. And that’s how we operate – we include, not exclude, we develop and we support.
